Communication, Interaction and Collaboration

Competence Area 2 relates to communication and collaboration through digital technologies using appropriate forms of expression and taking diversity aspects into account. It encompasses active and participatory engagement in society and the economy as well as tools for cooperative and co- creative processes, including the use of AI-supported tools, hybrid human- machine collaboration and platform- based and asynchronous forms of cooperation for the joint development of viable solutions in social, civil society and institutional contexts. Competence Area 2 further includes the design of a person's digital presence, identity and reputation as well as the conduct of commercial and non-commercial digital transactions, including payment systems, wallets and crypto-based transactions.

Communicating through digital technologies

This is the partial competence 2.1 in the competence area 2. “Communication, Interaction and Collaboration” of the Digital Competence Framework for Austria DigComp 3.0 AT.

Description

Interacting via digital platforms and through a variety of digital technologies and understanding appropriate digital communication means for a given context (also with regard to e.g. cultural, social, gender-specific differences).


Sharing and collaborating on data, information and digital content through digital technologies

This is the partial competence 2.2 in the competence area 2. “Communication, Interaction and Collaboration” of the Digital Competence Framework for Austria DigComp 3.0 AT.

Description

Sharing data, information and digital content with others – including machines – using appropriate digital technologies and via digital platforms, acting as an intermediary and being aware of referencing and attribution practices. Using digital tools and technologies to organise, coordinate and further develop cooperative and collaborative processes as well as to jointly create and develop resources and knowledge.


Using digital technologies for societal participation

This is the partial competence 2.3 in the competence area 2. “Communication, Interaction and Collaboration” of the Digital Competence Framework for Austria DigComp 3.0 AT.

Description

Participating in society through the use of public and private digital (administrative) services and platforms and seeking opportunities for self-empowerment and participatory citizenship with appropriate digital technologies.


Using digital technologies for responsible collaboration and co-creation

This is the partial competence 2.4 in the competence area 2. “Communication, Interaction and Collaboration” of the Digital Competence Framework for Austria DigComp 3.0 AT.

Description

Using digital environments, including AI-supported tools, hybrid human-machine collaboration and asynchronous and platform-based forms of cooperation, to co-creatively develop viable solutions, positions or outcomes in social, civil society or institutional contexts and to support decision-making processes.


Developing appropriate digital behaviour and using suitable forms of expression

This is the partial competence 2.5 in the competence area 2. “Communication, Interaction and Collaboration” of the Digital Competence Framework for Austria DigComp 3.0 AT.

Description

Being aware of behavioural norms when using digital technologies and interacting in digital environments. Adapting communication strategies to the respective participants and to the purpose and goal of the communication, and being aware of the diversity of cultures and generations in digital environments. Recognising which communication channel is appropriate for which communication and whether formal or informal communication is preferable. Demonstrating appropriate behaviour in online discussions.


Understanding and managing digital identity

This is the partial competence 2.6 in the competence area 2. “Communication, Interaction and Collaboration” of the Digital Competence Framework for Austria DigComp 3.0 AT.

Description

Consciously creating, using and managing one or more digital identities and understanding the significance and impact of digital identity in different public spheres, contexts and communication channels. Deliberately maintaining and shaping one's own reputation and responsibly handling the data generated through the use of digital tools, environments and services.


Conducting purchases, sales and other digital transactions

This is the partial competence 2.7 in the competence area 2. “Communication, Interaction and Collaboration” of the Digital Competence Framework for Austria DigComp 3.0 AT.

Description

Conducting commercial and non-commercial digital transactions of goods, services and rights, including purchasing, selling, booking, payment, concluding contracts, as well as transactions via digital payment systems and crypto wallets.
