fit4internet awarded with BPM Award once again

fit4internet in Austria – Raising Digital Competences was awarded 2nd place in the Human Resources Management Awards 2021 in the category "Non-Profit Organisations and Public Sector" by the Federal Association of Human Resources Managers (BPM) in Germany.

With more than 4,000 members, the BPM is the leading professional association for HR managers in Germany. It honoured outstanding projects in HR work with the HR Management Award on 31 August. The aim of the award is to make innovative HR work visible and to promote its professionalization. This year, the award was very much influenced by the motto "We. Together. Now." and the challenge of how we shape new working worlds together. A jury of BPM representatives and personalities from science and business decided on the winners, who received the coveted prizes at the Human Resources Management Congress. A total of nine initiatives in the categories of large companies, SMEs and non-profit organisations/public sector were selected as finalists by the top-class jury.

After the successful third place last year, fit4internet was again nominated as one of the leading initiatives in the category "Non-Profit Organisations and Public Sector" and awarded second place at the prestigious Human Resource Management Award this year. With the GirlsDay2021 project, an apprenticeship hackathon for young women and girls, the expert jury could be convinced. This hackathon showed that gender plays no role whatsoever when it comes to turning innovative ideas into reality with the help of digital tools. It was also another initiative to counteract the shortage of ICT professionals in Austria, because women also make a crucial contribution to the world of tomorrow.

Ulrike Domany-Funtan, MBA, Secretary General of fit4internet: "The #GirlsDay2021 apprentice hackathon, where young women learn to programme an app under the guidance of trainers, gives room for creative ideas, teamwork and innovation. It also allows them to learn about IT concepts and to gain a basic understanding of how digital technologies work. We are very proud that the BPM recognises this initiative and acknowledges our activity in the form of the award."
