How does AI learn?
Artificial intelligence (AI) learns through machine learning. The AI therefore receives relevant data and uses special algorithms to analyse this data and recognise patterns in it. That enables it to make predictions. Machine learning is used in many applications, such as image and speech recognition, education and personalised recommendations based on purchasing behaviour. There are different types of machine learning, for example supervised learning, unsupervised learning and reinforcement learning. Read more about machine learning here.
A specific machine learning technique is called deep learning. Deep Learning works by using artificial neural networks (ANN). ANNs are inspired by the way the human brain works and can analyse and understand complex patterns and relationships in data. Language models such as ChatGPT are well-known examples of the use of Deep Learning. Deep Learning combined with Natural Language Processing (NLP) enables chatbots to handle complex questions and continuously improve.
